Registered Architect and Technical Architect, with more than fifteen years of experience in the fields of architecture, public space design and construction management.
In 2014, Tomeu Duran founded SISTEMES OPERATIUS, with the intention to bring together architectural design with the technical abilities acquired as a construction manager and within his collaborations with engineering firms. The goals of this practice are to analyse, to think, to propose and, as far as possible, to act on the inherited physical environment, aiming that its functionality and use fit with the physical, sensorial and spiritual needs of the contemporary human being. After a 20 months period working as a public servant at the City Council of Andratx, Tomeu Duran has returned to the practice of SISTEMES OPERATIUS.
From January 2010 to September 2013, worked as a collaborator at the Urban Projects Department in the City Council of Barcelona. In this period, participated in planning studies, preliminary designs, construction projects and proposals for the definition of different public spaces of the city, a total of 649,470 m2 of projected public space.
Between 2007 and 2009 worked with two different engineering firms, where carried out tasks of construction management, quantity surveying and drafting of preliminary design and construction documentation, whether to adapt industrial, residential and office buildings, likewise car parks, residential areas, shopping centers, railway depots, schools or intermodal stations.
As a registered Technical Architect, has worked as a construction manager, safety coordinator and author of renovation and extension projects, new construction projects, or demolitions of detached and semi-detached houses and apartment buildings. As well, between 2008 and 2009 worked as a construction management assistant in the renovation and extension of two public schools in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. Between 2015 and 2017, developed the tasks of a construction management assistant of a winery in Felanitx, and two hotels and a convention center in s’Arenal, Mallorca.
Urban sociologist and DEA in Architecture, currently a member of the GIRAS-Tech Research Group at the Architectural Design Doctorate Programme of the ESARQ-UIC (School of Architecture of the International University of Catalonia) as a PhD candidate developing a sociophysical evaluation model of the public space in the housing estate of Barcelona province.

As an advisor in Civil Service in the Urban Planning department of la Vila Joiosa Town Council: mediation in urban conflicts and participation processes; urban strategies and social-economic management in the design of new urban master plan focusing on sustainable development.
As a member of design and planning teams his main motivation and his most remarkable ability is to understand the complexity of human behaviour in order to help transform the urban scene by developing human-scale and people-friendly urban models and strategies adapted to the city and its environment.

MSc in Enviromental Sciences, Technical Agricultural Engineer in Horticulture and Gardening (Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain) and a registered member of the Environmentalists Association of Valencia.
Jorge has eight years of working experience in Taller de Projectes S.L., a civil engineering office based in Palma, developing projects mostly related to coastal engineering and landscaping. Two years working as an enviromental consultant in Savina Mallorca C.B. Today is working as a freelance conducting studies and participating in projects for both private and public organisations related to the following fields:
– Coastal engineering: giving technical support in civil engineering projects including seafront promenades, harbours and marinas;
– Landscaping: giving technical support and developing green public spaces and landscaping studies;
– Enviromental consultancy: environmental management in engineering and architectural projects, environmental impact assessment reports, waste management studies and coastal environment studies.
Jorge Giménez can be considered an expert on environmental issues and respectful construction in coastal and maritime locations and a specialist in sand dune stabilization.
